Gathering stories in Bangladesh Kate Stanworth

Writing for charities

I have written a wide range of communications for charities over the past ten years - from complete websites to supporter newsletters (both online and offline).

Here are some examples:
  • Since 2013, I have been writing copy for UNICEF UK's Childmatters newsletter, which goes out in hard copy to UNICEF's supporters. See Spring 2014 & Summer 2013 for some examples.

  • I have also worked on a range of other writing assignments for UNICEF UK over the past five years, including the 2009/2010 International Inspiration Impact report.

  • I researched and wrote stories for CAFOD's 50th anniversary book, working closely with the picture desk team to choose a good balance of stories. I also wrote the copy for a spin-off exhibition that toured the country.

  • I have written web stories as writer in residence for Camfed, a charity that empowers girls and young women in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • I wrote the web copy for WAY Widowed and Young when the charity launched its new website in 2014. I have been editing the charity's WAY Forward newsletter since 2009 and for the past two years, I have also been writing and sending out the charity's monthly enewsletter. Since the beginning of 2014, I have also been acting as the charity's Press Officer.

I have written many different articles over the years - from first-person pieces to features to news stories. Here are just a few of them to give you a flavour:
